Pricing, in plain English

Two lanes, plus one for organizations.

Most pricing pages confuse the people they're trying to help. We tried to write one that doesn't.

A website needs two things, like a house does. A place to live, and a sign on the door.

Lanlan handles the place to live. The sign on the door — your own dot-com, like your-business.com — is a separate thing. Most cost about ten dollars a year, though some popular ones can run much more. Bring one you already own from anywhere, or buy through us when you upgrade. Either way, the dot-com is yours, in your name.

Pricing is custom — we'll talk about what your organization needs and quote from there.

Why we cost less than the others.

Most website builders charge per site, and lock the useful things — payments, dynamic content, custom forms — behind upgraded plans. We don't. One price gets you the whole tool.

Same goes for your dot-com — bring one you already own from Namecheap, Porkbun, or GoDaddy at no extra charge. Or buy through us with a small markup over the cheapest you'd find — that covers the connection work. No surprise renewals either way.

Pricing questions

The things people ask us first.

Q.01Wait — so what does it cost, really?

Your website is free. If you want your own dot-com, most cost about ten dollars a year (some popular ones cost more). If you want your site to be fully yours — your dot-com connected, payments through Stripe, the Lanlan badge gone — that's Make it mine, fifteen a month. Most people start free and stay free for a while.

Q.02What about the dot-com — do you mark that up?

A little. Domains are sold by registrars — companies that sell web addresses. We pay one on your behalf, then connect it to your site. There's a small markup over the cheapest you'd find — that covers the connection work and the infrastructure to keep it routed correctly.

If you want to skip the markup, buy your dot-com somewhere else — Namecheap, GoDaddy, Porkbun are all common options — and connect it to your Lanlan site at no extra charge. Buying through us is just easier; we handle the connection in one click.

Q.03What if I have two or three sites I want to make mine?

Each site you make yours is fifteen a month, billed together — so two is thirty, three is forty-five. If you're running more than that, especially with custom domains for several sites, we should probably talk. That's what For Organizations is for.

Q.04Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The free site needs no card. You only hand over a card when you want a dot-com or Make it mine.

Q.05What if I just want the free version?

Go for it. The free site is a real site — fast, secure, on the global network. Your address will be your-business.lanlan.site instead of your-business.com. That's the only difference. Plenty of businesses are perfectly happy with that.

Q.06Can I cancel?

Yes. One click. No "are you sure" walls. If your card has a hiccup, we won't drop you instantly — we'll send you a real email and give you a few days. Your free site keeps working when you cancel — you just lose the paid features. If you cancel everything, you can also export your whole site as files and host it somewhere else. We don't hold anything hostage.

Q.07Are there hidden fees?

No. Everything that costs anything is on this page. We don't charge per visitor, per page, per upload, per anything. We don't charge transaction fees on top of Stripe. We don't run ads on your site.
